Dr. Cappo is a licensed psychologist (Kansas & Missouri) with a
doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology. He also is certified by the Board of
Governors of the APA College of Professional Psychology in the Treatment of
Alcohol and Other Psychoactive Substance Use Disorders. He has training and
experience in a number of areas including individual, family and group therapies
for children, adolescents and adults. He also has had extensive training in
personality and diagnostic assessment. He frequently performs forensic
evaluations for court-related issues. Additional areas of specialization include
Attention-Deficit Disorder, conduct disorders, anger and domestic violence. He
provides drug and alcohol services as well as mental health services to individuals who
are under the jurisdiction of the United States Court's Drug and Alcohol
Treatment Services Program and provides services to both juvenile and adult
offenders for alcohol, drug or domestic violence offenses in several Kansas
counties. He conducts applicant evaluations for the Federal Drug Enforcement
Agency and for local police departments. He is a consultant for the Overland
Park Police Department and has provided evaluations for the Federal
Transportation Security Administration. He also conducts applicant
evaluations for clergy as well as for other public service and safety related
positions. Dr. Cappo is a past president of the
Kansas Psychological Association as well as the Kansas Association of
Professional Psychologists.
Dr. Witcher
has a doctoral degree in Counseling and Guidance and has been practicing since
1977 in the areas of individual, adult, child and family therapy. He has worked
extensively with blended and stepfamily issues as well as with issues of
violence and abuse. One of his specialties is marriage counseling. He also works
in the areas of men's issues in regard to anger, depression and violence. He
also has extensive experience in working with substance abuse issues and is a
Registered Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Counselor in Kansas. Dr. Witcher is a
clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. He
is a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist in Kansas and practices
independently in these areas.
Dr. Schlosberg is a licensed psychologist (Kansas) with a doctoral
degree in Clinical Psychology. He has training and experience in a number of
areas including individual, family and group therapies for children, adolescents
and adults. He has had extensive training in personality and forensic
assessment. He has extensive experience working with addictive behaviors and
substance abuse. He is certified by the Board of Governors of the APA College of
Professional Psychology in the Treatment of Alcohol and Other Psychoactive
Substance Use Disorders. He also has extensive experience working with
individuals and families experiencing psychological concerns related to physical
illness. Additional areas of emphasis include evaluation and treatment of
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder and behavior difficulties. Dr.
Schlosberg is a past president of the Kansas Psychological Association.
Dr. Rooney is a licensed
psychologist (Kansas) with a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology. She has
training and experience in diagnostic assessment and individual psychotherapy
with adults. She has had extensive training in assessment and treatment of
children and adolescents. Dr. Rooney is a past president of the Kansas
Psychological Association.
Dr. Swearngin is a licensed psychologist
(Kansas & Missouri) with a doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology. Her
training and experience includes individual, family and group therapies for
children, adolescents and adults. She has specialized training in the treatment
of eating disorders. Other areas of training including stress management,
women's issues, and psychological concerns related to health issues.
Dr. Russell is a licensed psychologist (Kansas) with a doctoral degree
in Clinical Psychology. She has training and experience in individual, group,
and family therapy. In addition to providing therapeutic services, for the past
two and a half years she has worked primarily with children, adolescents, and
families in the Kansas City area providing diagnostic and evaluation services,
including Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity evaluations to children and adults.
Dr. McNeley-Phelps is a licensed psychologist
(Kansas) with a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology. She has experience
conducting personality, diagnostic, and forensic assessments. She provides
assessments as well as treatment for children, adolescents, and adults. She
enjoys working with individuals, couples and families, especially in the areas
of parenting, communication, and mood management.
Dr.
Melissa Chiasson received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the
University of Kansas. She is a licensed psychologist in Kansas and has
experience conducting various assessments. In addition, she has worked with
children, adolescents, adults, and couples and provided outreach to a number of
organizations. She has a special interest in mood and anxiety disorders,
marital/couples therapy, and multicultural issues
Dr. Tonya Honeycutt
will be completing her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology in July 2004. She
is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master's degree in Guidance &
Counseling. Her training and experience includes individual, group, and family
therapy as well as assessment. She has an emphasis in areas of women's health
issues, mood disorders, parenting, and stress management.
Dr. Rebecca Miles
has a
doctoral degree in clinical psychology and has been practicing individual,
family and group therapy since 1993. Currently licensed as a Temporary Licensed
Psychologist (Kansas), she anticipates full doctoral licensure Fall 2004. Dr.
Miles’ experience includes assessment of intellectual, personality, parenting,
substance abuse, anger, and disability issues. She has extensive experience in
crisis management, depression, behavioral disorders, trauma and substance abuse,
as well as conducting Parent-Child Interaction Therapy aimed at addressing
non-compliance among children ages 2-7 and treating parent-child relational
problems. Dr. Miles conducts groups in substance abuse and adolescent anger
management as well as teaching
active parenting classes.
Dr.
Lieberman is a licensed psychologist in Kansas and Missouri. She holds a
doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology, and is Board-Certified in Clinical
Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology. She served as a
member of the Medical Staff at a state psychiatric hospital, and was Assistant
Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Missouri, Kansas City, School of
Medicine for fourteen years. She is also a Certified Forensic Examiner. She
has training and experience in chronic mental illness, individual and group
psychotherapy, geriatric psychology, psychological and neuropsychological
assessment, and forensic evaluations.
Rennie Shuler-McKinney has a Master's degree in Psychology and is
licensed with Behavioral Science Regulatory Board as a Master's Level
Psychologist and a Licensed Clinical Psychotherapist. She has been working in
the field since 1985 with a primary focus on the adolescent population. She
actively involves the family in the treatment process. She has experience in
issues related to substance abuse, sexual abuse, self-esteem, anger management
and behavior difficulties. Rennie offers individual, family and group therapy
for the adolescents.
Jana Bremenkamp has a Master's degree in Psychology and is licensed
with the Behavioral Science Regulatory Board as a Clinical Psychotherapist. She
has experience working with adolescents and adults, and facilitates a Tobacco
Information Class for adolescents. She also has experience with substance abuse,
self-esteem, anger management and domestic violence issues. She has training in
the area of psychological testing.
Mike Crowley is a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker and has
experience working with children, adolescents, couples and families. He also has
experience with anger control and substance abuse groups. He has been working in
the field since 1993. Mr. Crowley has presented a workshop on domestic violence
and is SATR certified in the State of Kansas. He also works with court-related
adolescents, families, and adults.
Stuart Waldman is a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker.
He is also a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor in the State of Kansas.
He has been working in the field since 1993, primarily with children,
adolescents and younger adults. Mr. Waldman has experience in
working with individuals, couples and families on issues related to depression,
bipolar disorder, substance abuse and behavior problems. He has also led
groups that have focused on coping skills, self-esteem and anger management.
Jeff Cowan has a Master's degree in Psychology and is licensed with
the Behavioral Science Regulatory Board as a Master's Level Psychologist. He has
been working in the field since 1993 with a primary focus on anger management
for both the adolescent and adult populations. He has experience in issues
related to substance abuse, self-esteem, depression and behavior difficulties.
