Matthew D. Brous, LCPC, LCAC, CPE
Matt is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, a Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselor and a Certified Polygraph examiner. Matt graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Fort Hays State University. Soon after he obtained a Master of Liberal Studies with an emphasis on Criminal Justice/ Public Administration also from FHSU. After being the administrator of a juvenile detention center in Northwest Kansas for several years, Matt made the decision to follow his heart and enter into the world of mental health. Matt received a Master of Science Degree in Community Mental Health Counseling from Fort Hays State University and simultaneously pursued state certification in addictions counseling.
While in pursuit of this newest degree he began to work for Kansas Social and Rehabilitation Services providing risk management, consultation and licensing for community mental health organizations, agencies who cared for and managed persons with mental and physical disabilities and providers of addiction services for all of Western Kansas. Matt later accepted the opportunity to work at Larned State Hospital in the Sexual Predator Treatment Program where he honed his experience providing individual and group therapy to civilly committed sex offenders in an inpatient setting. While working as a therapist at the Larned State Hospital, Matt accepted the opportunity to become a certified polygraph examiner studying at the Arizona School of Polygraph Science. Matt is certified by the American Polygraph Association to perform Post Conviction Sex Offender polygraph exams.
Matt has been employed at Clinical Associates as a Community Based Therapist for the Sex Offender Treatment Program since 2012 providing group and individual treatment as well as psychosexual evaluation for the adult population. In 2016, Matt began providing psychosexual evaluations to Western Kansas youth adjudicated of sexual offenses.
