Sex Offender Treatment
Clinical Associates, P.A. offers evidence-based sex offender evaluation and treatment services throughout the State of Kansas. Clinical Associates is the contracted provider for sex offender treatment for the Kansas Department of Corrections. We offer evaluation, assessment, and treatment at correctional facilities, parole and probation offices, and at Clinical Associates’ offices within the state. Clinical Associates’ sex offender treatment program utilizes evidence-based measures to assess the risk, needs, and responsivity issues of clients.
Treatment is focused on a decrease in client risk to the community, and an increase in pro-social behaviors. At the conclusion of services, we want clients to have developed the ability to intervene prior to potential problematic behaviors, and be better able to display appropriate responses to stressful life events. Clinical Associates believes that client success depends on the successful interaction between the referral source, the client, and the treatment team. We understand the importance of providing high-quality, evidence-based services to clients and make available to those with whom we work our collective experience in a professional manner.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY & INSTRUCTIONS
Clinical Associates is committed to providing a safe environment for all clients to attend treatment. We understand that weather can and sometimes does play a factor in the client’s ability to attend some treatment sessions. Clinical Associates has developed the following guidelines and instructions in order to ensure the safety of all clients attending treatment during severe weather. Clinical Associates will make decisions about group and treatment cancellation on a case-by-case basis and will use the guidelines below. We ask that you refer to these instructions during times of severe or potentially severe weather.
How Clinical Associates determines when to cancel treatment sessions:
Clinical Associates’ staff will follow the school district closing schedule of 1) their residence and 2) the district in which the group is being held. Regardless of school closings, if the Governor designates closings for state offices for inclement weather Clinical Associates will follow his direction. Our staff will monitor the current conditions and the forecast and will make any decision to cancel groups at least one hour prior to group. As some clients drive a considerable distance to group, we will attempt to provide notification as soon as possible.
Clinical Associates Responsibilities:
Each therapist will be responsible for notifying all of the POs who have clients in the group that is cancelled, so they may notify their respective clients. Clinical Associates’ staff WILL NOT notify clients directly of any group cancellations. We will only provide notification to parole/probation officers. Clinical Associates’ staff will notify parole/probation officers as soon as the decision has been made to cancel groups.
Client Responsibilities and Instructions:
Check the weather and forecast prior to leaving for group. If you have not been notified by your supervising officer that treatment has been cancelled, you may assume that treatment is being held. Please do not attempt to venture out into potentially unsafe conditions, even if group is being held. Remember, only the client’s parole or probation officer can excuse a client from group. Although Clinical Associates cannot excuse clients from attending treatment, we will not penalize any client for choosing safety of self and others.
Please DO NOT call Clinical Associates directly to find out whether or not group is being held. As we offer services throughout the State and our primary office is in Lenexa, our administrative assistants and staff will not be able to answer questions regarding group cancellation for areas outside Lenexa. You must refer all questions regarding group cancellation to your parole/probation officer.
